  • The AGRINATURA Science Days are organized by AGRINATURA, hosted by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, in cooperation with Caritas Austria, ADA (Austrian Development Agency), KEF (Commission for Development Research) and VIDC (Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation), taking place from 5 to 7 May 2014. The AGRINATURA Science Days assemble researchers and practitioners working on family farming and food security in one single forum. They offer a unique opportunity for dialoguing, learning, networking and launching new research and higher education partnerships. Science Days results feed into the AGRINATURA strategy process.

  • Primer Congreso del Foro de Universidades Nacionales para la Agricultura Familiar
  • La Agricultura Familiar representa a un sector heterogeneo y complejo con demandas especificas, que requiere de abordajes y marcos normativos particulares. La AF ocupa una posicion estrategica en relacion al desarrollo rural integral, incluyendo a la agricultura urbana y periurbana, en permanente disputa por territorios y con historicas desventajas en el mercado. En este contexto complejo y multidimensional, el Centro de Investigacion y Desarrollo Tecnologico para la Pequena Agricultura Familiar (CIPAF) del INTA ha avanzado desde el ano 2012 hacia una nueva institucionalidad con la conformacion del Foro Nacional de Universidades para la Agricultura Familiar (ForoUNAF), compuesto por representantes de casi la totalidad de las universidades presentes en las cinco regiones de la Argentina: Pampeana, Cuyo, NOA, NEA y Patagonia. Este organismo elige ademas representantes de las Universidades Nacionales ante el Consejo Asesor de los respectivos IPAF de las cinco regiones, que son el cuerpo colegiado que le da legitimidad a las acciones del INTA, y quien realiza el seguimiento y control de gestion.

  • International Encounters - "Family Farming and Research"
  • As part of the International Year of Family Farming (IYFF) declared by the United Nations for 2014, the research institutions of Montpellier's hub (Agropolis International) have taken the initiative to organize International Encounters on "Family Farming and Research". This event is co-organized with the CGIAR Consortium, the Global Forum on Agriculture Research (GFAR) and the World Rural Forum (WRF) and supported by the French Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various national and international organizations. It will feed the agenda of IYFF, help prepare the third Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development (GCARD3) -the GCARD1 having been organized by Agropolis International and GFAR in Montpellier in 2010- and contribute with ideas and recommendations to the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP21) to be held in Paris in 2015.
