Lee Sung-hee, chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation(NACF Korea), held the 2021 General Assembly of the International Cooperative Agricultural Organization (ICAO, chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation) at Grand Walkerhill in Seoul on November 30, 2021.
The general meeting was held as a pre-event of the ICA World Cooperative Conference in Seoul from December 1, and Chairman Lee Sung-hee, representatives of member organizations, and 100 cooperative officials attended online and offline to discuss the "identity of agricultural cooperatives contributing to sustainable food systems."
Lee Sung-hee, chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, attended the International Cooperative Agricultural Organization (ICAO, chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation) held at Grand Walkerhill in Seoul on the 30th and organized the meeting.
In particular, Chairman Lee Sung-hee inspected the ICAO continental Nonghyup project, which is being promoted by spreading the experience of the Korean Nonghyup as a cooperative support project in developing countries to achieve poverty end and food security based on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's).
As a representative example of the project, the Mongolian Cooperative's brand reinforcement project effectively led to an increase in farm income through branding of union members' products, and the Uganda Cooperative's Farming Material Center project was well received as a benchmark for Korea's joint purchase project.
Chairman Lee Sung-hee said, "We will do our best to contribute to farmers around the world to lead a richer life by successfully promoting agricultural projects by continent and to play a role as an international organization leading sustainable agricultural and rural development."
