ICAO Member Visit_INDIA (NAFED, IFFCO)

On 27th Feb, President Kim visited New Delhi, India and met with ICAO member cooperative, NAFED and IFFCO.

NAFED, the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation, warmly welcomed Mr. Kim and the ICAO delegates. This was the first time the ICAO President met with NAFED Managing Director Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and his staff, and was an opportunity to learn about our member cooperative. After a presentation on NAFED and its businesses, Mr. Kim spoke about his expectation towards future cooperation with the cooperative. Through this meeting. he ICAO Secretariat looks forward to more active participation from NAFED

Due to the tight schedule, the delegates had to say goodbye after enjoying some snacks prepared from NAFED.

The next meeting was held at the head office of the Indian Farmers’ Fertilizer Cooperative, Ltd. (IFFCO) and met with Managing Director Dr. U.S. Awasthi, Mr. Aditya Yadav, Mr. Tarun Bhargava and other staff members.

After long and detailed discussions, not only with ICAO delegates but also with NACF subsidiaries that base their offices in India, Mr. Kim and Dr. U.S. Awasthi agreed on areas of cooperation, specifically seed trade, fertilizer trade and farming machineries.
