The ICAO General Meeting was held in Seville, Spain, on the 17th, June. It was held with ICAO Excom and members representing agricultural cooperatives around the world, and Lee Sung-hee, chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation(NACF), was re-elected as ICAO chairman for four years as a result of the election.
Founded in 1951, ICAO is an agricultural sub-organization under the International Federation of Cooperatives (ICA), leading the mutual development and cooperation of agricultural cooperatives around the world. Currently, 42 member organizations from 35 countries are participating. The National Agricultural Cooperative Federation of Korea has been the chairman of the ICAO for 24 years since 1998. Chairman Lee Sung-hee emphasized that he will actively implement major pledges such as △ invitation training for cooperatives in developing countries, providing opportunities for employees to work at ICAO Seoul Secretariat, △ supporting excellent students in developing countries to study abroad.
Chairman Lee Sung-hee said, "Thanks to the constant love and trust that farmers and the people have given to NACF Korea, we have been recognized on the global stage," adding, "We will do our best to share the experience and vision of NACF Korea, which has grown to be the world's top 10 global cooperatives over the past 60 years."​
