The ICAO (International Cooperative Agricultural Organization) held an executive committee in Istanbul, Turkiye, on the 31st March.

Chairman Lee Sung-hee and seven other executives, representing agricultural cooperatives around the world, were attended, the executive committee approved the results of projects by continent and 2023 business plans.

In particular, this year, ICAO decided to establish an 'ICAO digital platform' to expand cooperation among member institutions. The platform aims to promote communication among ICAO members and will also contribute to boosting trade between cooperatives by allowing them to promote products and services from member organizations.

It also held a "Sustainable Agriculture Seminar" as a special session of the executive committee. In a keynote speech, Biorel Gutu, CEO of the FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization) Turkiye office, gave a lecture on the achievement of SDGs in agriculture and FAO-ICAO cooperation measures.
